bella update

brinksey winksey here wiff a bella update
mommish just came back from dr dayton at the parker road animal hospital. dr dayton was highly recomended by mommish long time friend who is an avid doggie lover as well. the news are very much full of the worrisome.

dr dayton thinks their is a high posibility that bella has lymphoma. when he felt around her throat he felt other things that mommish had'nt noticed. her lymph nodes were extremely swollen and he felt other parts of her body. he complimented mommish on bellas coat and great health and for noticing the lump so quickly. he says that it is very helpful that we brought her in right away because the cancer can be caught at the first stages if its lymphoma. he did a full body blood test and he will call mommish right away tomorrow morning when the test comes back. he says bella eating and playing normal are all good signs. does anyone have any idea what the average cost for chemotherapy runs now a day? mommish is clueless to all of this and as you can imagen distraught and in disbelief. does anyone have any information or experience with lymphoma? any advice will be helpful right now as well as power of the paw and some calm vibes for the mommish so she does'nt lose her marbles. anywoo, we are all going to try to remain as positive as we can for mommish and im going to go and cuddle wiff the bella. maybe my tooting will make her feel the betterments.

oh goodness. that's not good news at all! Hopefully the betterinarian is wrong!

that said, there are lots of types of lymphomas and they all have different prognosises. If that's what it comes back to be, definitely go to a cancer specialist and get their opinion. My kitTON sister had lymphoma and she lived 4 years after diagnosis (she was 18 when she went to the Rainbow bridge). Her chemo was relatively inexpensive, and Mom just gave it to her at home (orally)

This is very much the worrisomeness. The Lazy Butt has eyeball sprinkles but we are going to buckle down and put the power of the paw into high gear starting this very second and we shall not let up until we hear good news for the Bella!!

We are sending you much love and little doggie sugars,

HoneyBuzz and the LB.

We don't know anything about lymphoma but we DO know your Mama should try to keep all of her marbles until all the details are in :) We know it's hard but hopefully it will be caught in time and Bella will be alright! That's what we are hoping and we have all our paws crossed on our end and the human fingers are also crossed for a good outcome.

Hugs and love.

Keeping our fingers crossed for you that it all goes well! I've got a friend i'll send the link to your blog to. She's had 2 pups in the last year who have had cancer and she can answer some of the questions.

Mega double paw crosses from everyone! Hopefully the tests show it's something easily treatable and not too expensive. Thanks for the update, hope the next one is better.

Our sweet dog Cooper is fighting a serious form of hemangiosarcoma (cancer of the lining of the blood vessels). We're doing chemo, and it cost about $2,500, but we got a small grant from an organization that helps dog owners pay for their dogs' cancer treatments. Chemo is NOWHERE near as hard on dogs as on people, and from what I have heard, lymphoma responds VERY well to it. The clinic we go to here in Richmond, VA is fantastic! One of the office manager's dogs has lymphoma, and Madeline (the dog) is responding very well - I'd be happy to ask more about her treatment if that would help you guys.

We lost our sweet dog Snowball to bone cancer after a five month battle last year - it was discovered too late and the vet gave her two weeks, but we decided to give her the best time of her life, we travelled with her in a beach cart, and she loved every second of those 5+ months.

All that to say.... even if it IS lymphoma, there is likely a lot they can do, and there is a lot you can do. Feel free to contact me at jeanineguidry@mac.com - I am traveling this road now and will help in any way I can.

Much love and prayers,

Jeanine (Cooper and Foster's mom; friends with Annie and Paul and their mom)

We thought Sam had the same thing and it turned out to be just a fatty lump under the lymph node. We are keeping paws crossed and sending lots of prayers.

My whole pack is crossing paws and fingers and sending healing vibes to Miss Bella. With all of this love coming her way, this will probably turn out to be nothing at all. Sending all of our hopes.

Uh-oh! Don't freak until the news is definite. Mamma's bestest friend has recovered from Lymphoma. She and Mamma were only 30 when she was diagnosed. It will work out just stay calm.
