I hope 2012 brings you much needed healing with your pittie babies looking down on you from Heaven, cheering you on and telling you not to worry for them anymore. They are safe and sound!

Once again your eloquent words have brought me to tears. I think back on all your rescue stories and everything you saved your dogs from, and all the joy you had a chance to share.
I think that people who love animals as much as you and I do get to experience a rare kind of grace: it's a love and trust that never uses words. It's all actions, and I'm a firm believer that actions speak louder than words. When our animal friends pass, it's also a very painful kind of loss that people like your thoughtless neighbor will never understand. Right now I am in the middle of watching a beloved cat decline quickly. There are only a few people I can share my sorrow with.
I am SO GLAD you are posting to share your sorrow and your joy with us. Please keep posting, as it reminds me that I'm not alone in my love for my animals, either. Your family is always in my thoughts.
We love the idea of fireworks actually being kisses sent to your babies in heaven.That is such a lovely image...kisses fired up into the sky like handfuls of colourful stars.
